Novo Nordisk A/S -- Coagulation Factors VIIa, VIII and IX
We have research, development and license agreements with Novo Nordisk A/S to use our GlycoPEGylation™ technology to develop next-generation versions of Factors VIIa, VIII and IX.

Under the agreements, we received a $4.3 million upfront fee and expect to receive up to $52 million in milestone payments based on the progress of the programs. Novo Nordisk is responsible for funding Neose's research and development activities under the agreements, and Neose will recieve royalties on sales of any products commercialized under the agreements. In addition, Neose could receive additional milestones and royalties on new indications for the two proteins not currently marketed by Novo Nordisk.

BioGeneriX AG -- GLYCOPEG-GCSF
We have a research, co-development and marketing agreement with BioGeneriX AG, a company of the ratiopharm Group, to use our proprietary GlycoPEGylation™ technology to develop a long-acting, next-generation version of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF). G-CSF is a protein used to promote the production of infection-fighting white blood cells.

Under the agreement, Neose and BioGeneriX are pursuing development and commercialization of a next-generation G-CSF. The parties shared preclinical expenses, and BioGeneriX is funding the clinical development program. If Neose and BioGeneriX proceed to commercialization, Neose will have commercial rights in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Japan. BioGeneriX will have commercial rights in Europe and rest of world. Each company will receive royalties on product sales in the other company’s territory.
